Old Geodimeter software
(too old to reply)

I've got an old Geodimeter 510 that's loaded with a bunch of onboard
software that I would like to start using. I've got no manuals or
desktop software to go with the unit. Would anyone know where I could
locate these?
Thanks, Jim

Jim,

Based on your post it sounds as if you are unfamiliar with Geodimeters in
general. Is this correct? Our company has been using Geodimeter equipment
for over 20 years, so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I may
have the manual you are looking for, I will have to check this week at the
office. Does your instrument have a data transfer cable?

The desktop software you mention would likely be GeoTools, a rudimentary but
effective data transfer program. I know we have these on CD since it came
with every instrument we've purchased...

Yes I'm not that familiar with Geodimeter, the last one I used was a
120 mounted on a T16...many years ago. Since then it's been
Wild/Leica.
I bought the used Geodimeters because they are a lot faster than my old
T1600 and the price was very reasonable.
I'm using the Geodimeter with a Recon which works fine though there are
many instances involving small tasks it seems like overkill to go
through the tedious-TDS. That's why I'd like to use the onboard
programs.
Am I correct to assume my GDM to Recon cable would work to connect the
instrument to a PC?
I've located a users manual for the 500 but I can't find Geotools.
Would you mind sending me a copy?
Thanks, Jim
